Job Overview
The Senior Business Analyst plays a critical role in bridging the gap between clients' business needs and technical solutions. Working within a professional services consulting firm specializing in cloud-based business applications, this role requires a blend of business acumen, technical expertise, and leadership skills. The Senior Business Analyst will liaise with clients' IT departments and business units to collect and analyze requirements, scope projects, and ensure successful delivery using Agile SCRUM and DevOps practices. Proficiency in English is required, with knowledge of French and Arabic being a strong advantage.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Client Engagement: Act as the primary liaison between the client’s IT department, business units, and the development team to gather and document functional and technical requirements.
• Project Scoping and Effort Estimation: Lead project scoping, define deliverables, and estimate effort in collaboration with the technical team.
• UI/UX Prototyping: Drive the creation of wireframes and prototypes to ensure alignment with client expectations.
• Product Ownership: Act as the Product Owner within the Agile team, defining and prioritizing the product backlog. Identify and champion opportunities for improvement. Understand and communicate the financial and operational impact of any changes.
• Backlog Grooming and Sprint Planning: Collaborate with the development team to groom the backlog, refine user stories, and plan sprints effectively.
• Quality Assurance: Review test cases and user guides, ensure adherence to quality standards, and oversee defect resolution.
• Client Communication: Conduct presentations and sprint demos, gather feedback from the client, prepare reports, and ensure that issues are addressed promptly both before and after go-live.
• Data Migration Support: Assist in planning and executing data migration efforts to ensure seamless transitions.
• Continuous Improvement: Advocate for and contribute to improving processes, practices, and tools to enhance delivery quality and client satisfaction.
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A Masters degree is a strong advantage.
• Experience:
o 10 years of experience, with 5+ years as a Business Analyst, including working with cloud-based business applications. Experience in Finance is an advantage.
o Demonstrated experience with Agile SCRUM methodologies and acting as a Product Owner.
o Strong familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
o Track record of leading and supporting successful projects
• Technical Skills:
o Working knowledge of project management tools like JIRA, Trello, or equivalent.
o Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint as well as process modeling tools
o Familiarity with UI/UX prototyping tools such as Figma
o Certifications (desirable): Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO or equivalent), and Business Analysis certification (CBAP, PMI-PBA, or similar)
• Language Skills:
o Proficiency in English (mandatory).
o Knowledge of French and/or Arabic (strongly preferred).
